The law firm of Norris McLaughlin, P.A., is pleased to welcome David B. Shepherd as an Associate. He joins the firm’s Real Estate & Finance Practice Group in New York.

About David Shepherd
Shepherd focuses his practice primarily on commercial real estate and finance transactions. He has counseled developers, for-profit, and not-for-profit corporations in the acquisition and disposition of various classes of commercial real estate, as well as financing transactions.
Additionally, Shepherd is experienced in drafting and negotiating office and retail leases on behalf of both owners and tenants; as well as license agreements, operating agreements, shareholder agreements, the formation of corporate documents, and other real estate transaction-related documents.
As a young real estate attorney, Shepherd recognizes the importance of both being involved in the local legal community and connecting with young leaders in the New York real estate industry. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, New York City Bar Association, and New York County Lawyers Association. Moreover, Shepherd was a Spring 2019 graduate of the New York City class of Project REAP; through which, he has been able to experience personal growth by participating in educational and mentorship opportunities offered through the International Council of Shopping Centers, NAIOP, and Urban Land Institute.
Shepherd received his J.D. in 2016 from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he was an E. Nathaniel Gates Scholarship recipient, Staff Editor of the Cardozo Journal of Law and Gender, and President of the Real Estate Law Association. He received his B.A. in 2011 from Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business.
